In China, a new generation of regional electric trains by CRRC has been launched

The fleet, consisting of 4 four-car trains, features the CINOVA 2.0 platform announced in May 2023 and currently operates in Hubei province at speeds of up to 200 km/h., this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

These trains incorporate several innovations that make them more efficient and environmentally friendly.

One key feature is the streamlined body design and the use of carbon fiber, reducing weight by 10% and air resistance by 5%.

These enhancements result in a 1.2 kWh per kilometer reduction in electricity consumption compared to previous models.

The emphasis is also on digital innovations, including a guidance system for drivers based on power consumption data and 30 preset configurations for various operating conditions.

Furthermore, a full digital twin of the train has been launched, incorporating over 2,000 sensors and 130 algorithms for predictive equipment failure analysis, expected to reduce train maintenance costs by 30%.

These electric train innovations contribute to making transportation more efficient and environmentally friendly.
