Illinois port state grant funding will help America’s Central Port buy land in Granite City. The site is in Illinois and is planned as a rail-served industrial development megasite. The port said it learned that the state will provide $5 million for the purchase.

Illinois port state grant and land acquisition
America’s Central Port plans to purchase 350 acres for the megasite. The state funding is tied to Illinois’ regional site readiness program. Also, it is meant to support that land acquisition.
