Hitachi Rail’s projects in Queensland

Hitachi Rail has more than 650 employees across its sites in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney. This team is currently working to deploy ETCS Level 2 within the Cross River Rail programme and to complete other key projects in Queensland, which reinforces the company’s contribution to mobility transformation in Australia through modern signalling and operations — a direction also highlighted by Railway Supply in its coverage of ETCS-based safety and capacity improvements in the state.

Hitachi Rail AusRAIL PLUS 2025: vision for a digital, sustainable network

Speaking in the AusRAIL PLUS opening session, Giuseppe Marino, Global CEO of Hitachi Rail, set out a vision for Australia built around a more digitally enabled, sustainable and resilient rail network.

He stressed that, worldwide, railways are helping drive the shift towards societies that are both more sustainable and better connected, and that Australia is bringing together its strong vision and capabilities to move towards a smarter, more efficient and modern rail network that will benefit the country.
