Greece helps Russia to bypass sanctions on oil exports

According to Die Welt, Greece’s share of oil transportation rose sharply in April.
Tankers with Russian oil continue to enter European ports without hindrance amid attempts of the European Union to limit Russia’s ability to export “black gold”.
According to the German edition Die Welt, Greece is helping to circumvent the Russian ban, reports the railway magazine Railway Supply.
It is noted that in April this year, the share of Greece in the transportation of Russian oil tripled compared to 2021. According to the insurance company Lloyd’s, 190 tankers departed from Russian ports in April, 76 of which were under the Greek flag.
So, at the end of last month, the Greek supertanker Nissos Rhenia loaded Russian oil and went to Singapore. The number of shipments to India, China and South Korea also increased.
According to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), the Russian Federation exports 7 million barrels of oil and petroleum products daily.
