A robust grain harvest has prompted SSR to expand services from regional collection sites. Key delivery routes include ports in Newcastle, Melbourne, and Kembla, ensuring smooth export logistics.

The company hauls bulk grain from Riverina in southern New South Wales to Melbourne and Kembla. SSR also transports grain from the ‘Golden Triangle’ in northwest New South Wales to Newcastle.

Key Freight Infrastructure Supports Growth in Australia

SSR has established a network of crewing depots across New South Wales and Victoria. These include sites in Narrabri, Bathurst, Parkes, Dubbo, and Chullora, enhancing operational efficiency.

Depots in Bendigo, Maryborough, and Dynon strengthen SSR’s ability to handle freight volume. This infrastructure supports expanding demands and guarantees service reliability for agricultural exports.

SSR partners with George Weston Foods and Allied Pinnacle to transport grain and flour domestically. Since November, it has also supplied services to Manildra Group’s advanced processing facility.

The company’s capabilities extend to containerized freight for various industries. It employs 70 train crew operating 25 locomotives and 450 wagons to meet diverse logistical needs.

SSR provides exports via Port Botany, servicing Fletcher International Exports and DP World. It also supports SWIFT Freight and Grainforce Logistics with tailored transport solutions.

SSR’s Commitment to Reliable Freight Services

SSR emphasizes precise operations, compliance, and technical expertise to deliver exceptional service. Its focus on training, accreditation, and rostering supports reliable rail transport solutions.

The company’s adaptability has earned contracts with Toll Global Logistics and Sydney Trains. SSR now delivers weekly freight services between Newcastle and Sydney, including steel products.

SSR recently secured a Transport for NSW contract to assist with network maintenance. This expansion reinforces SSR’s role in supporting infrastructure and agricultural development.

SSR continues to focus on customer needs, problem-solving, and operational efficiency. These strategies ensure the company strengthens its footprint in Australia’s freight and agricultural sectors.
