PKP Cargo faces significant operational challenges due to ongoing strikes by train drivers in Germany, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Changes to travel schedules are necessary to adapt to the situation on German railways.

The carrier, serving thousands of clients in Poland and other European countries, must reorganize its logistics plans to minimize inconvenience.
The company, integrating rail, road, and sea transport, is in a complex situation as the German strike affects all European freight transport, including routes through the Alps, Poland, Scandinavia, and the sea ports of the Netherlands and Belgium.
Krzysztof Łoś, PKP Cargo spokesperson, emphasizes that the company actively informs clients of any changes and collaborates with shippers and cargo recipients to ensure the most efficient transportation.
The strike by German train drivers, organized by the German union (GDL), is a response to a wage dispute with Deutsche Bahn (DB).
This is the fourth and longest protest by this professional group, affecting not only freight but also passenger rail transport.
During previous strikes, most intercity services were canceled, significantly impacting rail traffic in Germany.
As a leading rail operator in the European Union, PKP Cargo not only grapples with the logistics crisis but also strives to maintain transport continuity in these challenging conditions.
The halt of freight trains and rail traffic could have long-term consequences for European trade and the economy.
Additionally, the company is exploring alternative modes of transportation, including road transport, to prevent further disruptions in the supply chain.
“The strike forces us to change the movement dates of such trains in Germany. We are informing our clients about the situation and collaborating with shippers and cargo recipients to ensure efficient transportation,” said PKP Cargo representative Krzysztof Łoś.
Apart from the direct impact on freight transport, this situation sheds light on significant labor relations and wage negotiation issues in the railway industry at the European level.

The strike on the German railway, which began on Tuesday and is the fourth and longest protest by the union of train drivers, focuses not only on financial demands but also on reducing the weekly working hours of relief workers while maintaining their salaries.
Faced with these challenges, PKP Cargo continues to take measures to overcome the crisis and adapt to the dynamically changing situation, a key factor in maintaining stability and efficiency in the European rail transport sector.
