GB Railfreight Unveils First Class 99 Locomotive for Testing

GB Railfreight has announced that its first Class 99 locomotive, No. 99001, has begun its testing journey. The locomotive is traveling to the Velim Test Track in the Czech Republic. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The Class 99, numbered 99001, left Stadler’s factory in Valencia earlier this week. It is now on a 2,000-kilometer journey to the Velim Test Track in the Czech Republic.

After completing its European testing phase, the Class 99 will move to the United Kingdom. Once there, additional testing will take place, along with comprehensive crew training sessions.

These UK trials, set for early summer, are critical for integrating the locomotive into existing systems. GB Railfreight is confident this locomotive will improve freight transport efficiency across the network.
