RegionAlps has published a video on social media showcasing the final assembly process of the four-car trainset at the factory in Bussnang, Switzerland.
This train, released at the end of last year, has been undergoing operational tests on public routes since February of this year.
According to the contract signed last summer for €1.8 billion, 286 single-deck FLIRT trains will be delivered to the national carrier SBB and its subsidiaries Thurbo and RegionAlps.
An option for an additional 224 trains is also included. It is planned that these modern trains will begin serving passengers in 2026, with the final delivery scheduled for 2034.
FLIRT Evo trains are technologically advanced trains capable of carrying up to 256 passengers in a three-car configuration and up to 370 passengers in a four-car configuration.

Along with comfortable seating, they provide a high level of comfort and efficiency for passengers and significantly reduce environmental impact through the use of electric traction.
This significant step in the development of Switzerland’s transportation infrastructure promises to improve passenger mobility and make travel more convenient and environmentally friendly.
