Federer Express become popular in Basel
09.11.2021
On October 22, 2021, Swiss legend Roger Federer inaugurated a new elegant tram in Basel, named after him – Federer Express.

Painted with images of Federer’s playing days and adorned from the inside with facts about his career and even bench-style seats for players on the court, the tram will surely stop traffic in Basel when it goes into service, informs Railway Supply magazine, citing Roger Federer’s Twitter feed.

“This project was very important to me. Therefore, it is a great honor for me to be able to see Federer Express on the streets of Basel,” said Federer.
He later tweeted: “Thanks for the incredible honor. It feels like just yesterday I was a boy who trained at number 8 every day,” wrote the former number 1 on Instagram.

Federer, who recently underwent third knee surgery, has not played since Wimbledon but expects to return in 2022.
