Low-cost carrier Wizz Air announced that, in cooperation with a number of non-profit organizations, it will offer 10 000 free tickets for Ukrainian refugees planning to fly from Ukraine’s neighboring countries (Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania, SlWizz Air offers free ticketsovakia) to the UK to participate in the British government’s visa program “Housing for Ukraine”.

The 10 000 free ticket initiative starts this weekend and will run from May 14 to June 15 this year, reports Railway Supply magazine, citing CFTS.

The indicated number of tickets at a price of 0 euros is valid until there are empty seats on selected flights operated until June 15th. As part of this promotion, passengers can take one hand luggage (40x30x20 cm). A trolley bag and other items of checked baggage are paid extra.

This coming Saturday, as part of this initiative, flights from Warsaw and Krakow will be accepted at London Luton Airport.

Free tickets will be available on 61 routes in total.

“Housing for Ukraine” is a British government program that allows Ukrainian refugees to move to the UK with so-called sponsors. As of May 5, the UK government has issued more than 95 000 visas to Ukrainians under this program. More than 37 000 Ukrainians have already arrived in the UK.
