Features of West Tarneit Station

The station will consist of two platforms, a pedestrian subway, a car park of 400 spaces, and a four-bay bus interchange. In addition, landscaped areas will feature walking and cycle paths, cycle storage facilities, and seating for commuters and visitors.

Community consultation guided the design, prioritizing accessibility and dynamic public spaces. Therefore, vibrant green tones will highlight underpass and adjoining spaces. Landscaping will include 17,000 local trees, shrubs, and flowers to create a sense of welcome.

Transportation connections at West Tarneit Station

The station will have a 26-space Parkiteer and 30 bike hoops for ease of active travel. Meanwhile, access will be provided from a new link road from Leakes Road, with a Heartlands Boulevard signalized junction providing improved connectivity.

The new interchange will include an access route linking Tarneit North to the station, and Route 182 will have its path realigned to service the land. Community information sessions will also provide an update on the project for residents throughout the month.

Construction is expected to continue over the next two years, and the new station will open in 2026. The government was insistent on the point that construction will increase local connectivity and support Victoria’s rail system.
