The investments align perfectly with Grupo RAS’s vision to become a key operator in Uruguay’s upgraded national railway network.
The company will manage three subsidiaries, focusing solely on railway transport along Route 5 and other national routes.

The C23EMP locomotives are designed for reliable operation with a small axle on narrow-gauge tracks.
The locomotives are equipped with efficient 12-cylinder FDL engines with electronic fuel injection.
Wabtec will manufacture the locomotives at its plant in Contagem, Brazil.
Delivery of the locomotives is expected by the end of 2025, marking the beginning of Grupo RAS’s railway operations in Uruguay.
