“Today’s times require us to react quickly, so we are implementing new strategic projects. In particular, we are mastering the production of a wide range of previously purchased products. This allows us to obtain the most advantageous price and load our enterprises, which is very important for the country’s economy. Yes, we are building dump cars, hopper-dispensers, containers, and independently producing a wide range of products for the railway industry, which has become inaccessible due to objective reasons. We are seeking positive economic effects multiplied by quality. As a result, we have achieved savings of nearly 100 million UAH on purchases,” said Evgeny Liaschenko, Chairman of the Board of AO Ukrzaliznytsia.

In 2022-2023, Ukrzaliznytsia’s own facilities additionally mastered the production of 151 types of products with a total value of 760 million UAH. This includes approximately 104 positions worth 615 million UAH.

“The in-house production speaks for itself. For example, the direct production cost of container supports for fitting platforms is half the market price, brake pads are 30% cheaper, rectifiers for VL80 electric locomotives are almost half the price. We are also in the process of mastering 47 new types of necessary products,” said Evgeny Shramko, a member of the Board of AO Ukrzaliznytsia.

Among the products produced in-house are new types of sleepers, which diversify the market for fastening suppliers, interior doors for electric trains, barriers, brake blocks, brake pads, angles for concrete forms, and more.

As previously reported, Ukrzaliznytsia has purchased a significant amount of electricity from a producer.

The company has also entered into direct contracts with ExxonMobil and Orlen for the supply of diesel fuel. In addition, AO Ukrzaliznytsia has signed a direct contract with Ukrneft for the supply of gas.
