Uzbekistan intends to take a $196.5 million loan to purchase Hyundai electric trains

Uzbekistan plans to conclude a contract for the purchase of six high-speed electric trains from South Korean company Hyundai Rotem, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.
This decision was outlined in a decree signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The estimated cost for this acquisition is €185 million ($196.5 million).
The financing is expected to come in the form of a loan from the South Korea Economic Development Cooperation Fund, with a 35-year repayment period and a 0.1% annual interest rate, including a 10-year grace period.
