In October 2022, according to operational data of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, 12 million 60 thousand tons of cargo were transported. This is 380.1 thousand tons or 3.3% more than in September. It is reported by Railway Supply magazine with reference to Rail.insider.


In October, a record monthly volume of grain cargo was transported during the martial law – 3 million 598 thousand tons. This is 197.8 thousand tons more than in September (+5.8%). In addition, the volume of transportation of coal increased to 2 million 215.3 thousand tons (+0.8%), building materials – up to 1 million 953.1 thousand tons (+4.6%), cement – up to 288.6 thousand tons (+8.2%).

On the other hand, transportation of iron and manganese ore decreased to 1 million 425.9 thousand tons (-4.3%) and ferrous metals – to 628.5 thousand tons (-9.2%).

The lion’s share of the total volume of export traffic (5 million 186.8 thousand tons) is occupied by the transportation of grain and milling products (3 million 59.4 thousand tons).
