UZ has announced a tender for the purchase of a cable for the electrification of the site between Smela and Cherkassy.

On October 13, the Odessa branch of UZ announced a tender for the purchase of supporting cables for the overhead contact network for a total amount of UAH 40 million.

This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to Prozorro.

The auction is divided into two lots: a total of 81,000 kg of cable products are planned to be purchased. The auctions are scheduled for December 21, 2021. The winner is expected to deliver the cables by the end of 2022.

From the terms of delivery it is known that the cables must be delivered to the Shevchenko station in Smela, so they are talking about the purchase for electrification of a section between Smela and Cherkassy.

As a reminder, on August 6, they began work on the electrification of the Cherkasy section — Shevchenko station at the railway station in Cherkassy. We are talking about 30 kilometers of railway track.
