Ukrzaliznytsia plans to buy imported railcars in the future in order to increase competition and help the Kryukovsky Railcar Building Plant (KVSZ) to catch up to the European level, said Alexander Kamyshin, the acting Chairman of the Board of UZ.

Укрзализныця планирует закупать импортные пассажирские вагоны

In his opinion, in this way Ukrzaliznytsia will receive better quality cars at a better price, and KVSZ will significantly improve the range and expand the sales market for its products, reports Railway Supply magazine with reference to urm.media.

“We have far-reaching plans – together with the Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov, we have an idea to launch capsule cars in Ukraine. This is a completely different experience for passengers – and an understanding of where UZ as a company needs to strive. But for now these are plans … ”, – Alexander Kamyshin.

On August 11, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, Alexander Kamyshin was approved as the interim head of Ukrzaliznytsia.
