Ukraine lost almost 23% of the railway network due to Russian aggression
As a result of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine, almost 23% of the railway network was lost. Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov spoke about this at the international conference “Europe of the Carpathians”.
The official stressed that Russian troops are deliberately destroying the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine. The amount of just documented damage has already reached more than $ 90 billion, and this figure is growing every day, Railway Supply reports, citing MIU.
“Given this, we are forced to quickly rebuild our logistics system. Now we are working on securing cargo delivery chains, changing the direction of trade flows through the blockade of Ukrainian seaports and the loss of almost 23% of the railway network,” the minister explained.
He also thanked the European partners for their assistance in this process, especially in the delivery of humanitarian supplies. “We already have permit-free passage for carriers, and there are also a number of logistics hubs operating in Poland to effectively manage transportation. I am sure that with such support, victory is inevitable,” Olexander Kubrakov said.
The Ministry of Infrastructure expects that European partners will continue to help in solving logistical problems, and will also take part in the restoration of Ukraine’s transport infrastructure.
Recall that earlier Olexander Kubrakov reported on the destruction of up to 30% of Ukraine’s infrastructure by the enemy. In addition, the European Parliament called for financing the renewal of transport infrastructure in Ukraine.
