Ukraine imported 8.5 thousand tons of rails from Russia in 2020. The export of Ukrainian-made rail products to Russia amounted to 6.4 thousand tons, informs Railway Supply magazine referring to the GMK Center..
At the end of 2020, imports of rails from Russia to Ukraine decreased by 16.9% compared to the previous year, to 8.5 thousand tons, for a total amount of $ 7.7 million. Exports of Ukrainian rails to Russia in 2020 decreased by 37.6% – up to 6.4 thousand tons.
Overall import of rails to Ukraine in 2020 increased by 11.4% – up to 13 thousand tons, in monetary terms – by 34.6%, up to $ 14 million.
The largest countries – exporters of rails to Ukraine:
- Russia – $ 7.7 million (unchanged by 2019);
- Germany – $ 2.7 million (-22.2%);
- Austria – $ 1.3 million (-59.6%)
Overall export of Ukrainian rails in 2020 decreased by 53.3% – to 7.34 thousand tons, in monetary terms – by 52%, to $ 8.1 million. The largest countries – importers of Ukrainian rails:
- Russia – $ 5.2 million (-43.8% by 2019);
- Uzbekistan – $ 0.6 million;
- Belarus – $ 0.28 million
