09.02.2022
The Agency “Turkmendemiryollary” (“Railways of Turkmenistan”) published the information, which is in the current list of requests for imports from the Russian Federation, prepared by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
According to it, the carrier needs 1,000 tank cars for the transportation of petroleum products, 300 gondola cars, covered wagons, fitting platforms, and 50 universal platforms, informs Railway Supply magazine, citing rollingstock.
Demand corresponds to about 15% of the freight car fleet in the country: as of 2019, it was 11.8 thousand units.
The need is higher than that noted by representatives of the industry of Turkmenistan in the summer of 2020 during a video conference organized by the Russian trade mission, then it was about 1.1 thousand railway cars.
