The first two locomotives will be used for shunting operations, powered by both a diesel engine and an electric overhead line. This hybrid system allows switching between two energy sources depending on the operational conditions.

The delivery is expected in the coming months, as the first DualShunter 2000 is already fully ready.

CZ Loko began producing hybrid DualShunter 2000 locomotives in 2023, when Tper previously ordered two of these shunting locomotives. These machines have proven highly efficient due to their ability to operate on both electric and diesel traction. The new order indicates a growing interest in hybrid solutions within the railway industry.

The use of hybrid locomotives, such as the DualShunter 2000, helps carriers significantly reduce emissions because they can operate on electric power in environmentally sensitive areas. This is particularly important in light of new environmental regulations that have come into force in recent years. Tper is thus taking a step toward more environmentally friendly transportation.

A key advantage of the DualShunter 2000 is its versatility. These locomotives can be used in areas with limited access to the electrical grid or in cases where high mobility is needed. This allows Tper to significantly expand the operational capabilities of its rolling stock across different sections of the network, improving overall efficiency.

Tper’s order demonstrates the continued trend toward the adoption of hybrid technologies in the railway sector.
