The Slovak railway is prepared to handle a greater volume of cargo from Ukrainian agricultural producers

This was discussed during a meeting between representatives of Ukrzaliznytsia and Slovak carriers on May 25, as reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply, citing Rail.insider.

According to Josef Virba, a representative of the carrier ZSSK Cargo, Slovakia is the only neighboring EU country that has lifted all restrictions on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine and is ready to receive grain shipments.

However, as he mentioned, no wagons with agricultural products have arrived at the Chop-Chierna nad Tisou crossing during the past week.

In addition, Josef Virba has requested Ukrzaliznytsia to provide a reserve locomotive to transport empty wagons from the Chierna nad Tisou station to Chop.
