The Ministry of Infrastructure has prepared a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to extend the implementation period of the pilot project until December 4, 2022.

implementation of private traction

This is stated in the Report on the periodic monitoring of the effectiveness of the order of the Ministry of Infrastructure dated March 4, 2020 No. 191

“On the approval of the Temporary Regulation on the procedure for admitting private locomotives to work on separate routes on public railways.”, informs Railway Supply magazine.

It is noted that the participants expressed a desire to continue the experiment. A total of 14 business entities participated in the project.

But in 2020 and 2021 only one agreement was signed on the admission of private locomotives to work on certain routes of public railways. UZ and the participants in the experiment spent from 1.2 million to 265.9 million UAH for participation in the project.

“The expenses of business entities depended on the number of sites that the enterprises announced to participate in the pilot project. Business entities, not admitted to participation in the pilot project, incurred the costs of administrative procedures, ” the report says.

The MIU came to the conclusion that “it was not fully possible to achieve the declared goals.” As previously reported, an infrastructure access tariff for private traction could be developed in 2022.
