In 2023, the Lithuanian company LTG Cargo transported 27.2 million tons, exceeding forecasts by 2.5 million tons, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Transportation of oil and petroleum products by LTG Cargo remained at the previous year’s level, amounting to 9.4 million tons, while the volume of construction materials (5.5 million) and agricultural products (4.7 million) increased.
Transit freight to Kaliningrad decreased by 20% to 6.5 million tons. Sanctions against Russia and Belarus led LTG Cargo to reject nearly 4,000 transportation requests, covering over 52,000 railcar shipments.
100% of UAB LTG Cargo Ukraine is owned by the Lithuanian rail freight company AB LTG Cargo, which is a part of the largest group of railway companies in the Baltic States, AB Lietuvos Geležinkeliai (LTG), and takes the 10th place in terms of cargo transportation in the European Union (EU). The company started its operations in Ukraine in 2020.
