Thales is a key partner in modernizing the Portuguese railway infrastructure.
The first collaboration involves implementing new electronic interlocking systems and deploying modern telecommunication systems, as well as passenger information and comfort systems.
Thales further solidified its role by leading the design and implementation of the Lisbon Operational Control Center, which currently manages 70% of Portuguese railway operations.
The company played an innovative role in Portugal, ensuring the deployment of ETCS L2 first on the International North Corridor (Beira Alta Line) and International South Corridor (Evora-Elvas-Caia), and then on the Cascais Line, which was a significant achievement.
