Test locomotive passed by new railway section in Belarus

The BKG2 electric locomotive passed through the Svetlogorsk-on-Berezine-Kalinkovichi section as part of a comprehensive test of the new infrastructure. A test locomotive passed through the new electrified section of the Belarusian Railway.

The locomotive was moving at a set speed, braking and picking up speed according to the regulations. Specialists of the Belarusian Railways confirmed that the entire system is ready for regular electric trains. Commissioning works are continuing at the site.

The trial pass of electric rolling stock at the section became the next stage in the implementation of the investment project for the electrification of the Zhlobin-Kalinkovichi-Barbarov section, the total length of which is 141 km.
The project was launched in 2018 and is aimed at expanding the electrification range of the Belarusian Railways and increasing the efficiency of passenger and cargo transportation.
As previously reported, China will finance the electrification of the railway line in Belarus.
