A Sydney Trains representative noted that the line often experiences delays due to its landscape. “We’re proactively improving the corridor’s resilience through essential upgrades,” the spokesperson said.

Sydney Trains Replacement Services and Passenger Advice

To reduce inconvenience, Sydney Trains scheduled the works during the school break. Still, passengers should plan ahead and expect longer travel times throughout the eight-day period.

Buses will replace trains between Thirroul and Sutherland. Express bus services will run from Wollongong and North Wollongong to Sutherland, connecting with T4 Illawarra Line trains toward the City.

T4 trains will continue to operate between Bondi Junction, Cronulla, and Waterfall. Officials thanked passengers for their patience and emphasized the importance of these safety improvements.

These targeted upgrades reflect Sydney Trains’ long-term strategy to modernize critical routes while minimizing disruption through well-timed maintenance efforts.
