Sydney Metro services resume after Chatswood power failure

Sydney Metro trains are back in service after a power supply problem at Chatswood caused major delays and brought trains from Macquarie Park to Barangaroo to a halt, disrupting commuters through the peak afternoon period.

Sydney Metro disruption and resumed services
As advised by NSW Transport, the technical breakdown occurred at approximately 4.00 p.m. and stopped trains on a number of major stations. Electricity was restored at 4.28 p.m. so Sydney Metro trains were back in service. Delays were, however, forecast through the evening.

A transport spokesperson confirmed that services were gradually returning to normal. Additionally, commuters were advised to factor in added travel time or use Sydney Trains and bus services as temporary replacements.
