To help with travel before the rail line begins, the government is adding six new bus routes linking suburbs including Penrith, Liverpool and Campbelltown to the airport. There will be cheaper, more efficient public transport for Western Sydney patrons using these services.
Furthermore, rideshare firms are in talks to develop purpose-built pickup spots, and a SkyBus-style shuttle a la Melbourne is on the cards. But there is no word yet on when, or if, it will run between the terminal and the Sydney CBD.
New Amenities for Passengers
There will be more than 6,000 parking spaces at the new hub that will provide electric vehicle charging stations. Pricing is still under consideration, but a lack of surcharge stations will make riding public transportation a cheaper option.
In the meantime, residents from other parts of Sydney could struggle to reach the airport until the rail connection is established. Meanwhile, buses and rideshares are expected to be the main transport options for those making their way to the terminal.
