Stadler, a Swiss manufacturer of railway vehicles, has signed a deal with the Austrian-Hungarian company GySEV to supply 9 new intercity electric trains Flirt with the option for an additional order of 4 more units, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

This deal, financed by the European Investment Bank, also includes the supply of spare parts, software, and technical maintenance for 5 years after delivery.

The Flirt electric trains will be manufactured at Stadler’s plant in Szolnok, Hungary, and will have a maximum speed of 160 km/h.

Each train set will accommodate 248 passengers, including 32 seats in first class and 216 seats in second class.

The length of the trains will be 106 meters.GySEV already operates a fleet of 20 Flirt electric trains, ordered and delivered between 2013 and 2018.

This addition to the existing fleet will be a significant enhancement for the Austrian-Hungarian company, allowing it to expand its transportation capabilities and improve passenger service quality.
