Russian Railways launched grain express trains to Mongolia

Within the framework of the Grain Express service, which is provided by Russian Railways, the first 2 high-speed trains with wheat were sent to Mongolia from the Tatarskaya West Siberian Railway station (Novosibirsk region). The total weight of the cargo is 10 thousand tons, informs Railway Supply magazine with reference to the forwarder.

launched grain express trains

Each train consists of 67 grain wagons. A special timetable was developed for the trains. On the way, no additional sorting of wagons by destination is required, and at the border there is no need for reloading from one rolling stock to another, since the railways in Mongolia have the same track gauge as in the Russian Federation. Due to this, the train will cover the route in 5 days, which is almost 4 times faster than the standard delivery time.
