Power supply contract for Grand Paris Express Line 18

Colas Rail and Eiffage Énergie Systèmes consortium has been awarded a €26 million contract to supply electrical equipment for the 35 km automated Grand Paris Express metro Line 18 between Orly airport and Versailles Chantier station.
The project will include fifteen rectification and seven switching substations, two traction control units and 140 km of third rail power supply cables.
Initial work is due to begin by mid-2023 and will be carried out in three phases between 2023 and 2027 to allow for a phased commissioning by 2030, informs Railway Supply magazine citing the Railway Gazette.
Large purchase of track maintenance equipment by Ukrzaliznytsia
The contract contains a requirement to promote access to employment. At least 10% of working time will be reserved for people facing job loss. At least 20% of the work budget will be allocated to small and medium-sized businesses.
