Supply and production of traction systems for metro trains

Titagarh will acquire ABB’s traction system manufacturing technologies, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
ABB has announced a strategic partnership with Titagarh Rail Systems for the supply and production of traction systems for Delhi Metro trains.

The agreement involves Titagarh acquiring ABB’s traction systems, including traction converters, auxiliary converters, traction motors, and train control system (TCMS) software, along with rights and licenses for manufacturing traction motors. It also includes the complete transfer of technologies, including the source code of TCMS software.
This will enable Titagarh to independently manufacture and further develop the TCMS system.
Titagarh Rail System’s order portfolio includes India’s largest contract for supplying 24,177 freight wagons, a contract for manufacturing and servicing 80 Vande Bharat electric trains, and contracts for developing and producing 102 metro cars for the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation.
