The delivery includes the TDX101, a 09-3X Dynamic high-speed tamper, and the BX101, a SSP305 high-performance ballast regulator. Both machines are engineered for Australia’s challenging conditions.

ARTC also expects the TDX102, a 09-2X (4×4)4S Unimat designed for plain track and turnout tamping. It will be paired with the BX102, an SSP303 ballast regulator, to optimize joint performance.

An additional SSP305 regulator, the BX100, will operate with the previously deployed TDX100 unit. Together, these machines represent a major upgrade in ARTC’s maintenance strategy.

Clinton Crump, ARTC Group Executive Operations, said the arrival of TDX101 marks a major leap forward. “We’re not just refreshing our fleet — we’re transforming the way we maintain our network,” he noted.

Crump emphasized that these upgrades will deliver faster, more consistent results and improve network reliability. The investment aligns with ARTC’s long-term commitment to operational excellence.

Plasser Australia has already delivered the BX101 to complement the tamper. The remaining units are scheduled to arrive later this year, supporting broader network coverage.

Plasser Australia Sets New Standards in Rail Technology

Nathan Stevens, Sales & Marketing Manager at Plasser Australia, said these are the most advanced machines ever introduced to the Australian market. “We’ve invested over 100,000 hours in their design and production,” he stated.

According to Stevens, the machines raise the bar in performance, safety, and compliance, demonstrating the firm’s strong dedication to rail innovation and durability.

Plasser Australia and ARTC Transform Rail Maintenance

This collaboration allows ARTC to implement smarter, faster, and more resilient track maintenance strategies. With Plasser Australia’s support, the corporation is poised to improve service delivery nationwide.

These new technologies ensure more reliable operations and minimize disruptions, benefiting both rail operators and passengers across the network.
