Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine, 102.5 thousand animals have been evacuated by Ukrzaliznytsya passenger trains.

It is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to the press service of the company.

Dogs and cats continue to be the most frequent passengers on evacuation trips. Railway workers recalling the case of the evacuation of a Mariupol family with five children and nine dogs in early March.

Domestic foxes and pigs, iguanas, boas, raccoons, ferrets, ducklings, snails and aquarium fish are named among the animals transported in wagons.

“Transportation of animals by evacuation trains is free, and for regular trips, we ask you to issue a luggage receipt at the box office and take documents for your little friend with you,” Ukrzaliznytsia noted.

Recall that on March 1 UZ evacuated more than 11 thousand animals. Also, a four-legged conductor “works” in one of the trains – dog named Nickole.
