As part of the work on the Çerkezkoy-Kapıkule line, which is the first stage of the Kapıkule-Halkalı High-Speed Line project, the construction of which was started by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure in 2019, during the excavation, old graves were discovered. As a result of the research, the employees of the Directorate of the Edirne Museum determined that the graves belong to the Ottoman period. The tombstones of six graves excavated during the first stage will be taken under protection by the Museum Directorate.
