On March 1, Czech Railways presented new trains delivered by Pesa Bydgoszcz. The previous generation trains were called RegioShark. The new series was named RegioFox, reports Railway Supply magazine, citing Rynek Kolejowy.

Pesa signed a contract to supply Czech Railways with 847 cars in February 2022. The framework agreement provides for the additional order of 160 more cars with a total value of PLN 2.5 billion.

As Pesa emphasizes, the new train has a spacious cabin with 115 seats (including 9 in 1st class), barrier-free entry, heating, air conditioning, 220V and USB sockets for charging mobile devices, Wi-Fi, a vacuum toilet with a changing table , internal and external LED lighting, a modern passenger information system, GSM-R communication systems and the European ETCS security system. The vehicles have room to carry eight bicycles, three children strollers and two wheelchairs. RegioFox are very safe trains that comply with the latest European ETCS standards and can travel at a maximum speed of 120 km/h.

In January, one of the new RegioFox trains arrived in Vienna for testing in a climate chamber, while another arrived on the track in Velim, Czech Republic. After the completion of the tests, it remains to wait for their commissioning.
