04.06.2021
A new line of the Baku Metro was opened. On May 29, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev inaugurated 1 km of the Purple Line of the Baku Metro.
The line will operate only on weekdays until the end of June, reports Railway Supply magazine citing the Railway Gazette.
The short Purple Line in the northwest of the city now has three stations, but will eventually run between the Khojason and Karachuksur districts with 12 stations and its own depot.
The new station is spread over three levels and includes a walkway that allows trains to switch between tracks when reversing.
