Metronet swept four prestigious awards at the Western Australian Architecture Awards, including the top George Temple Poole Award, confirming its leading role in transforming Perth’s public infrastructure. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The 21-kilometer Morley-Ellenbrook Line became the most significant transport expansion in the city since the Mandurah Line. It features five newly constructed stations in Morley, Noranda, Ballajura, Whiteman Park, and Ellenbrook.

Woods Bagot led the architectural design in collaboration with Taylor Robinson Chaney Broderick (TRCB), TCL, and UDLA. Their team focused on blending modern aesthetics with community functionality.
The Metronet project also earned the Wallace Greenham Award for Sustainable Architecture, the Colorbond Award for Steel Architecture, and the Public Architecture Award.
The awards jury praised the line’s design for enhancing social infrastructure and elevating the travel experience through user-focused planning and inviting public spaces.
They described it as a benchmark for sustainability in government infrastructure and an exemplary model of integrated urban development.
