By intentionally integrating into the Western railway network, LTG has become a member of the International Union for Road-Rail Combined Transport (UIRR), this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

LTG has joined the UIRR

“Intermodal freight transport is the European way of logistics. Its development requires the participation of all regions of the continent, so we are pleased to welcome the first member from Lithuania. UIRR’s mission is to promote carbon-neutral combined transport ‘door-to-door’ as a solution for long-distance freight transport throughout Europe,” says Ralph-Charlie Schulze, President of UIRR.

Based in Brussels, the organization actively promotes sustainable intermodal transport and represents decision-makers in the European Union.

Ahead of new directives promoting ‘green’ transport in the EU, together with other UIRR members, LTG companies will strive to further develop services for clients and cooperation with EU partners:

– Strengthen business ties,

– Participate in international working groups,

– Facilitate synchronization between different modes of transport,

– Exchange best practices with countries with extensive experience,

– Organize activities of Lithuanian intermodal terminals, increasing the efficiency of services provided and compatibility required for different modes of transport,

– Promote the development of intermodal transport in the region.

100% of UAB LTG Cargo Ukraine is owned by the Lithuanian rail freight company AB LTG Cargo, which is a part of the largest group of railway companies in the Baltic States, AB Lietuvos Geležinkeliai (LTG), and takes the 10th place in terms of cargo transportation in the European Union (EU). The company started its operations in Ukraine in 2020.
