Lithuania will transport oil products to Ukraine via Poland
15.02.2022
Orlen said they would transport oil products from their refinery in Lithuania to Ukraine via Poland.
This decision was made after the Belarusian authorities introduced a ban on rail transit. This is written by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to the CFTS.
It is noted that such transportation became possible due to the company’s investments aimed at diversifying logistics capabilities. That is why Orlen Lietuva acquired 100% of the shares of the Lithuanian company Mockavos Terminalas.

“Today’s situation beyond our eastern border shows that business decisions must also take into account the security of the entire region. The supply of fuel to Ukraine will be ensured,” said Orlen President Daniel Obaitek.
He added that the acquisition of Mockavos Terminalas allows to gain control over the only railway transshipment terminal on the Polish-Lithuanian border in Mockava.
It is used to load oil products manufactured at the Mazeikiai Refinery, which are supplied to the markets of Poland and Ukraine then.
