Kubrakov: UZ will stop without increasing the tariff for freight transportation
Kubrakov: UZ will stop without increasing the tariff for freight transportation. The new Minister of Infrastructure told the Verkhovna Rada about the priorities of his work, in particular in the railway industry.
According to the minister, the priority is to stabilize the financial condition of Ukrzaliznytsia, reports Railway Supply magazine with reference to Railinsider.
“On the one hand, we need to reduce procurement costs, optimize them and make them more competitive and transparent. Second, this is the profitable part of the enterprise. We all understand that we need a balance. There is a business that is interested in reducing tariffs or keeping them at the current level. But in this version UZ will stop. The level of depreciation of the main infrastructure is 90%, we cannot but raise tariffs for freight transportation. This is necessary, because when UZ stops, everyone will lose. “- he said.
Kubrakov added that it is important for UZ to win back its share of the rail freight market. We will remind, on May 20, the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada voted 284 votes for the appointment of Alexander Kubrakov as Minister of Infrastructure.
