Kolomyia plans to launch a train route to Romania

The mayor of Kolomyia (Ukraine), Bogdan Stanislavsky, announced this on Facebook, stating that he recently signed a memorandum with the mayor of the Romanian city of Sighetu Marmației, Vasile Moldovan, this is reported by the railway transport news portal, Railway Supply.
The two cities have agreed to work on creating a railway route from Kolomyia to Sighetu Marmației, connecting Kolomyia to another European Union country.

It is expected that this route will be based on the existing routes 753/754 and 755/756 Rakhiv-Valya-Vișeu.
The mayor hopes that this initiative will be realized in the near future and plans to propose it to the city council for support from the government and the Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia).
The Romanian partners will also approach their national carrier.
This concentration of international railway routes starting from Kolomyia is expected to develop a powerful transport and logistics hub in the city.
