It is planned to restore railway passenger communication with the liberated Kherson within 10 days. This was announced by the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov, Railway Supply magazine reports with reference to Rail.insider.
“Our task is to restore transport and passenger communication with Kherson and the right bank as quickly as possible. The railway workers, together with the State Emergency Service, are completing a survey of the tracks and have already begun repairing the damaged infrastructure. We expect that we will be able to restore railway passenger communication with the regional center within 10 days,” he said.

The Minister added that the clearing of roads has also begun. During the retreat, the enemy blew up the main bridges on state roads. In total, 14 bridges were destroyed in the liberated territory of the Kherson region. This significantly complicates the restoration of transport communication in the Kherson region. Road services are coordinating work with the military, and as soon as it is safe, we will dismantle the bridge structures, – said Oleksandr Kubrakov. “Following the military and explosives specialists, transport infrastructure workers enter the liberated Ukrainian territories. They work on roads and railways where mines have already been cleared and help local utilities. I believe that those who were forced to evacuate will return to their homes very soon by these roads.”
Meanwhile, the head of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” Oleksandr Kamyshin announced the resumption of passenger traffic with Mykolaiv on November 14.
“Cargo communication with Mykolaiv has been working for us for a long time. And we are launching a passenger train only now, because the liberation of the Kherson region drove the Russian troops away from Mykolaiv,”he explained.
