Implementation of the ERTMS/ETCS

The Swiss Federal Office of Transport has updated its strategy for implementing the European Rail Traffic Management System/ European Train Control System (ERTMS/ETCS), this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The plan involves transitioning to ETCS level 2 and beyond across the entire rail network to enhance safety and capacity.
Liverpool demands compensation from train manufacturer Stadler
The development of the transition concept to the new systems and the implementation of Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS) are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025.
This updated strategy will secure funding for projects, including the upgrade of passenger rolling stock, with costs for train equipment borne by transportation operators.
