Poland is developing project documentation for a high-speed railway connection with Ukraine, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.
Poland’s European Projects Center is working on project documentation for establishing a high-speed railway connection with Ukraine as part of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), according to Jadwiga Emilewicz, Poland’s Government Plenipotentiary for Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation in Development.

“The European Projects Center is currently working on project documentation on the Polish side for this matter,” she said at the Second Ukraine Recovery Forum organized recently in Warsaw by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH).
According to Jadwiga Emilewicz, including railway connections from the Polish border to Lviv, Kyiv, Mariupol, and Odesa in TEN-T allows for financing project documentation development from European funds.
Discussing current challenges, she noted that repairs to railway tracks between Ukraine and Poland are hindered by the need to limit traffic for several hours a day.
“PKP, at the request of the Ukrainian side, agreed to postpone repair work to avoid disrupting traffic,” she explained.
As previously reported, Ukraine plans to construct approximately 3,300 kilometers of European-gauge railway tracks on its territory.
