Previously, trains on this route did not exceed 310 km/h. However, after successful testing and infrastructure inspections using a dedicated inspection car, the operator raised the speed limit. This move will shorten travel times and enhance service reliability.

Testing New Sections and Expanding the Network

At the same time, China Railway completed trials on the Beijing–Shenyang line. Fuxing trains reached speeds of up to 385 km/h during testing, confirming the infrastructure’s readiness for high-speed operations.

Technical inspections have also begun on the 116 km Xiangyang–Jingmen line, scheduled to open by the end of 2025. Inspection trains are currently evaluating the tracks, overhead lines, communication systems, and signaling equipment to ensure safe operations at 350 km/h.

Train of the Future: Fuxing CR450

In December 2025, CRRC unveiled a new-generation electric train — the Fuxing CR450. Its operational speed is expected to reach 400 km/h, with a maximum design speed of 450 km/h.

This model is slated for use on the Chengdu–Chongqing route, which is set to open in 2027. Thus, Fuxing trains at 350 km/h in China are becoming a cornerstone of the nation’s transportation strategy and reinforcing China’s global leadership in high-speed rail technology.
