First line of Yunba driverless trains launched in Chongqing
Southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality put its first driverless rail transit system, BYD SkyShuttle, into operation in Bishan District on Friday. The first train launch took place on Saturday, April 17, 2021. This was reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to the Xinhua news agency.

The company has invested more than 1.5 billion U.S. dollars over seven years in the development of the tram-train system.The rail transit system involves electricity-powered, autonomous trains running on a 15.4 km elevated rail line. There are 15 stations along the route.
A tram was launched without a contact network in China
“Yunba” is a three-dimensional system of “smart” transport, which was developed by the Chinese company BYD, the “Yunba” system is the intellectual property of the developer company.
