He launched a new Vande Bharat Express connecting Ahmedabad and Veraval, improving travel across the state. India now operates nearly 70 Vande Bharat routes, showcasing its modernization of rail infrastructure.

India boosts train exports through ‘Make in India’

India has shifted from importing coaches to exporting them. The country supplies metro coaches to Australia and railcars to France, the UK, and Saudi Arabia. Rail parts now reach Germany, Spain, and Mexico.

Coaches built in India are used in Mozambique and Sri Lanka. Indian locomotives serve several international markets, proving the global reach of the Make in India initiative.

Modi emphasized that this success supports domestic suppliers and cuts foreign dependence. Increased rail exports directly benefit India’s economy and global standing in transport manufacturing.

India drives regional growth with rail investment

The Prime Minister announced a new express service between Dahod and Valsad. This route will serve tribal communities and improve travel in Gujarat’s rural districts, once connected only by slow trains.

A powerful new rail factory in Dahod will produce 9,000-horsepower locomotives, each branded with the name “Dahod.” India aims to make this city a major engine production center in the coming years.

This plant will generate jobs for hundreds of local workers and support small businesses. Local MSMEs will benefit by supplying parts, while the wider community gains from increased economic activity.

“This development will help farmers, laborers, shopkeepers, and young professionals,” Modi said. India’s rail push supports inclusive growth across all sectors, not just industry.
