Its unique design allows operation on both Iberian (1668 mm) and standard (1435 mm) gauge tracks. Special bogies with quick-change wheelsets make this possible, reducing downtime during transitions.

Euro6000 Locomotive for Cross-Border Routes

Designed for international use, the Euro6000 locomotive meets the requirements for France and Benelux countries. It operates on tracks electrified with 1.5 kV and 3 kV DC or 25 kV AC systems, ensuring flexibility for various rail networks.

Renfe Alquiler focuses on expanding its rolling stock leasing as part of its 2023–2028 strategy. The Euro6000 locomotive supports these goals by increasing freight capacity and boosting competitiveness.

This locomotive will complement Renfe Mercancias’ fleet, which acquired similar models in 2023. Its innovative features allow the company to adapt to market demands and contribute to sustainable rail transport solutions.

Unlike most European operators relying on four-axle locomotives, Renfe has chosen six-axle models. These trains reduce rail wear, improve maneuverability, and ensure better handling of heavy loads.

Stadler has reinforced its reputation as an innovative leader by producing the Euro6000 locomotive at its facility near Valencia. This project demonstrates the company’s commitment to technological excellence and sustainability.

The Euro6000 locomotive sets a new benchmark for efficiency and reliability in freight transport. Renfe integrates this advanced technology to ensure sustainable growth and operational success.
